They say that in life, the only constant is change. As a wedding photographer, I’m usually there to capture the start of a brand-new chapter. But recently, I had an experience that reminded me why I love this job so much and it started all the way back in 2018.
A Familiar Face And A New Beginning
I first met Sarah years ago when I photographed her first wedding. As life sometimes goes, paths diverged and chapters closed. However, over the last couple of years, I kept bumping into her and her new partner, Sam, either at other weddings or just in town.
It was lovely to see her so happy, but I never expected what happened next.
The Ultimate Compliment
When it came time for Sarah to plan her wedding to Sam, she did something that blew me away. Before even finalizing the venue or the date she reached out to me. She wanted to make sure I was available because there was no one else she wanted to be her photographer.
She had even recommended me to other family members in the meantime, showing a level of trust that I don’t take lightly.
Why This Matters
It can feel a bit “taboo” to talk about second weddings in the bridal industry, but I don’t really see why? Life is a journey and to have a client look back at their past and say, I still value the way Dominic captured my story, is the highest honour I can receive.
It’s a reminder that my job isn’t just about the click of a shutter; it’s about the relationship. It’s about being a calm, familiar face in the middle of a whirlwind day.
Sarah and Sam, thank you for choosing me to document your new beginning.
